I recently bought the video doorbell. It did not work with my existing Nicor 1888 doorbell so I called and Arlo Support confirmed that the Nicor Primechime+ is compatible. Upon install there is no ring when the power kit is installed. If I remove the power kit, it works, however, doorbell continuously chimes.
Arlo support said I need a new power kit, but I am doubtful this is the solution. Are there any other solutions out there?

It's either the power kit or the transformer.
I had a similar problem (chime only rang w/o the power kit). Although the transformer was within the spec, swapping the transformer for a new one solved the problem.
Swapping the power kit didn't work in my case. But trying the power kit first sounds reasonable to me - it's less work to swap the power kit than it is to swap the transformer.
