I'm trying to find out more about the Video Doorbell that was just announced: in particular, how does it integrate with an existing Arlo setup (does the Video Doorbell work with all Arlo cameras and base station models?), and does it work with the Arlo Basic service or do you have to subscribe to an Arlo Smart service after 90 days?

Man.. crybabies everywhere! If you don't like it, don't buy it.. but I don't need to get emails of you bleed tears all over my emails..

For myself.. I'm quite happy with the Arlo Video Doorbell.. it works just fine and I have no issues arming both systems.. they work fine together and serve my purpose. And that's it.. I'm not going to blow up your email with crybaby ramblings..

Wow thanks for the reminder about WHO are oversensitive.. we didn't 'cry' as you put it.. it's a SIMPLE matter of opinion. Is that a problem for you, I would advise you QUIT using community forums...  Last time I checked we CAN give our opinion on something or is that a problem for you as well?

Also learn how to disable email reminders about forum messages since you apparently don't like *YOUR* emails being bombarded.. how is that *OUR* fault.. not sure, but reading is fundamental.

Fine if you like having 2 separate managed devices good for you!  The rest of us like integration, why is that so difficult to understand?

Nobody is crying; we’re expressing our opinion and our experience to hopefully help others on this forum. Additionally, the forums “may” give feedback to Arlo who may change their designs in response to feedback from their customers (or may ignore the feedback if the suggestions don’t fit their business model).

I share my experiences and suggestions. I certainly don’t criticize the opinions of others. Be happy.

actually no.. the feedback is worthless sniffling.. which feeds ones inner self, and not the good of others.

Thanks for all the input so far, just received my video door bell and will not even attempt to connect, but will return due to the following.

1, looked for installation instructions as stated on the box and could not get to them.

2, Had purchased a Arlo chime to go with the video door bell, as read in the forum, it does not work with the video doorbell. 3, paying for the service was a feature that l incorrectly assumed was the same as the Arlo camera's.

Seems l agree with several Arlo critics that this product was not developed as good as the Arlo camera's, too bad!

Would appreciate a response from Arlo representative!

If James_C would just admit they made a mistake and were going to update the product to be like the cameras I would still consider the doorbell. Cameras are on my list to install on my Apple HomeKit soon, and they look like they are the product to have, but without a compatible doorbell I have to say No right now. Netatmo’s solution, although the doorbell hasn’t been released yet is currently the better option. Come on Arlo....change the product.....

I purchased the video doorbell camera thought the 7 days cloud service will be free like my existing Arlo camera but found out from the Arlo support that I have to pay for the cloud service after 90 days.  Also, Arlo does not have the annual cloud service they will charge month to month so it cost more in comparison with Ring cloud service.  Arlo video doorbell took me 2 days to install because It takes forever to sync the Arlo video doorbell with my phone.  It finally works, but the video notification is always delayed.  When someone rings the doorbell, I tried to answer the person already in the car and drove away.  This weekend, I will remove it and return it to Best Buy.  I am now thinking to purchase a "Ring video doorbell" at Costco since it is on sale and they give 12 months free cloud service vs. Arlo only 90 days and they do have an annual cloud subscription so it will be cheaper vs. Arlo month to month.  The reason Arlo's market share was up because they give the consumer free 7 days cloud service and the consumer likes it so they buy from Arlo, but if they start charging their consumer for subscription the consumer will think twice to spend their money to Ring or other Arlo competitor.

So is there still any cloud storage after the trial like the Arlo pro has? Or does the doorbell become useless or just a remote view device if you don't subscribe?

At the moment, Cloud Storage requires a subscription.  So the doorbell would become a remote view device if you don't continue the subscription when the trial period ends.

Wow..
Ok thank you.
The main reason we went with Arlo in the beginning was because it had local storage and would save in the cloud for a few days.
Guess I will be trying Skybell, Remo or Eufy then..

Again thank you.
