Arlo doesn't sell them separately.  If the doorbell is covered by warranty, then you could contact support and ask for a warranty replacement.  (they'll replace the full doorbell, not just the powerkit).

Thanks.

no surprise,  arlo once again proves they couldn’t care less about customers after they have your money.

Not offering a simple replacement part for sale is an absolute scam and despicable!!!

I’ll just find a better, and more reputable brand; and replace all my cams rather than give arlo another cent to replace the doorbell; I expect arlo will be bankrupt, or better yet destroyed by class action litigation, and long gone pretty soon anyway…..good riddance you vultures!

Hi @Shillelegh

Thanks for the feedback. I have escalated this to the appropriate team and support should be reaching out to you as soon as possible.

I am also looking for a wired doorbell power kit as when i purchased this unit it did not come with the power kit. i have tried searching all over the place and it appears i am having the same issue as everyone else for the last 2 years. the buzzing from my chiming unit is getting annoying and i am about to remove the doorbell as well before it causes any more problems with my electrical in my house

Can  you confirm that you purchased the AVD1001?  That is the only model that has the power kit.

Also, what are voltage and power specs for your transformer?

Yes it is the AVD1001. and i just confirmed that i have 18.2 v coming off of the transformer

Ok.

Unfortunately Arlo doesn't sell the power kit separately.  If it's been installed for two years, then it is out of warranty, so not eligible for an RMA.

That is very disappointing that Arlo has taken the position that customers can either choose to remove their devices or hope their devices are not doing any damage to their homes because of the refusal to provide replacement power banks. especially considering that customers do move on a regular basis and do not take the power banks not realizing the importance of them.

Hopefully you can at least provide me with a wiring diagram of the power pack so that I can build something so that it does not do any damage to my home. if not I am left to choose between removing the device and going with a competitor or printing this email chain and keeping it with my insurance documents should any damage that results in an insurance claim occurs

This is a user-to-user forum and I don't work for Arlo.  So I don't have this diagram.

How long have you had the doorbell?  I was thinking it was 2 years from your initial post, but looking again, you didn't quite say that.

  • If the doorbell is newly purchased, but came w/o the power kit, then the best thing to do is to exchange it.
  • If it's still within the warranty period, you can get an RMA.
  • If the warranty is expired, my guess is that Arlo support will offer you a discount on a replacement.  You reach Arlo support through the support center of the app.
