Homekit Secure Video (Recordings)? AVD1001 & VMB5000

First time purchasing Arlo equipment.  Bought the VMB5000 Ultra Hub and the wired video doorbell after I read they were Homekit certified.  However, once everything was installed, working and paired up with Homekit I realized it was not providing recordings - just live view.

I read thru the forums, which are dated at least a year or two ago, which indicates that Arlo does not plan on providing the Homekit Secure Video to home (meaning it will show the recordings).  

My question is if this old information or current?  Is there any intent in the near future (months) for Arlo to provide HSV with their subscription?  Or, long shot, am I missing something and I didn't set it up correctly?

I hate to say it because the equipment is nice but without Homekit Secure Video capabilties, Arlo is a no go with me.  I just changed to an Arlo system in the past two days hoping to get my security system down to just Home with a few things running solely in Arlo (water sensors, sirens, etc).  But, it doesn't meet my needs without HSV.   I am willing to pay the subscription for the HSV capabilities.  In fact, I think Ecobee just did that where it is HSV capable with the higher subscription.  Sounds like a great idea that Arlo should impliment.

Please respond with the latest news as I need to make a decision on pulling this equipment and send it back.
