For those experiencing this issue, try toggling off "All other motion" within your Arlo Smart alerts settings and test to see if your camera still produces the desired results.
You can find this under Settings > Smart Notifications > select the desired camera > toggle off "All Other Motion".

cruiserandmax2,
Are you using Activity Zones on the doorbell?

Yes there is a very small activity zone. And when a person (or whatever) causes actual visual motion within the activity zone is does reliably record a video which appears in my library. It's just that at all other times motion alerts keep getting continuously sent to my phone, and no video recordings appear to occur in conjunction with those alerts.

This started happening to me this morning as well. It's driving me crazy! I have changed nothing on my Arlo settings.
Was there a firmware update pushed out last night?

I also tried powering off and restarting the VMB4540, but the notifications just continued after it finished restarting.
The doorbell firmware says it is up to date... Is there any way to "restart" the doorbell? Besides removing the device through the app entirely and then re-adding it and having to go through the setup steps?

My guess is they push an update last night and it's causing this issue.

Toggling off "all other motion" seems to have worked.

This stops ALL alerts for me now... our camera points at a very busy sidewalk/street- so we rely on a very very small activity zone box that covers just the top step of the steps leading up to our door. It is a zone that is guaranteed to have motion within it when someone walks up the steps- however now with "All other motion" toggled off it no longer detects any motion that occurs there..
It seems like a bug was introduced that needs to be fixed.

And just to be clear- none of the "smart" motion detections ever work well for us due to the complexity and level of activity in front of our house, so we rely on detecting any/all "dumb" motion within a specific small activity zone.

Also having same issue since last night.
Seems like something on Arlo side has changed causing the issue.
Really need this fixed as well.

Is there any update on this issue?
I have an open support case for this issue but the people supporting that case seem to be out of the loop to the fact that this is an issue affecting multiple users as they keep sending suggestions that would only be applicable if it was a single user having issues.
Disabling Any Motion has worked as a temporary 'fix' but should not be considered the fix as it was working fine prior to 05/03 and should be a function that continues to work properly when enabled.
Please let us know the latest status on what Arlo is doing to address this issue.
Thanks

I re-enabled 'All Other Motion' in the Smart Notifications for the doorbell a day or two after I started this thread, and the constant bogus notifications seem to have stopped for me. Besides leaving All Other Motion disabled for around 24hrs I didn't really change anything else. It's been operating normally (sending alerts when anything in my small activity zone moves) for the past few days now.
Did the problem "go away" like this for anyone else?

Re-enabled All Other Motion 24hrs ago, so far no false notifications. So seems maybe they fixed something.

Didn't work for me. I'm only seeing this on my Doorbell. Toggled off "All Other Motion" for the Doorbell but still seeing continuous triggers...

As a followup, I also tried removing the doorbell, then re-adding it but that didn't make a difference. Had to disarm the doorbell to stop the continuous triggers...
