I currently have a chime brand doorbell. I’m trying to install the Arlo wired doorbell to the chime box. My chime box looks nothing like any of the samples given on the video. It looks totally different. I can’t find any support.

What are the manufacturer and model numbers for the chime box?

Just installed my Arlo Video Doorbell (wired).

The chime worked at first. Now doesn't...just calls my cell phone, which won't work for our family.

I DID NOT install the power diode and was told to get an electrician by the online Arlo chat rep

Seems excessive to do that. Just bought a new NICOR PrimeChime+. The reviews said it worked with Arlo but didn't say I needed an electrician to do so

Anything you can suggest before I return it and go in a different direction?

Did you get the PrimeChime Plus 2 (PRCP2)?  Or the older PrimeChime Plus (PRCP)?

The PrimeChime Plus 2 is compatible, and has the functionality of the power kit built in.  So the power kit shouldn't be used with the PRCP.

Nicor doesn't seem to have the older PRCP info on their website anymore.  But the older PRCP might not be compatible - at least one poster found it was not.  https://community.arlo.com/t5/Arlo-Video-Doorbell/New-construction-home-with-door-chime-issues/m-p/1...

As far as the electrician goes, professional installation does add to the cost, but can be helpful when troubleshooting, especially if you don't have a meter (and reasonable knowledge of circuitry).
