AVD1001. New NICOR PrimeChime+. HELP!

Just installed my Arlo Video Doorbell (wired) and installed a new NICOR PrimeChime+. The reviews said it worked with Arlo but didn't say I needed an electrician to do so.
The chime worked at first. Now it doesn't...just calls my cell phone, which won't work for our family.
I DID NOT install the power diode and was told to get an electrician by the online Arlo chat rep
Seems excessive to do that.
Anything you can suggest before I return it and go in a different direction?
