I recently changed the password on my home wi-fi system. I managed to successfully reconnect 4 Arlo video cameras, but cannot get the wired doorbell to connect. First of all, when I use a paper clip to push the reset button, there is no white LED on the front that lights. I have tried this many times. The doorbell push button on front has a ring of tiny white lights, and after many tries, one of my pushes caused the ring to flash. I took a "photo" of the QR code with the doorbell camera and heard a chime, but after a couple of minutes of trying to detect the doorbell, the operation failed. I managed to do this a couple more times, and all attempts failed. Before I smash the doorbell onto the concrete driveway, what else can I do? Is my doorbell suddenly defective and I need to purchase the latest version of doorbell (and is that compatible with my other cameras)?

After you hear the chime, did you look in your router's attached device list for the doorbell?

Is this the AVD1001?

There should be a white ring around the doorbell button.  Are you holding it long enough (~10-15 sec)?

The AVD1001 has to still be connected to the transformer when you do this (which is really awkward).

Yes, it is the AVD1001. But mine is wired, so when I remove it from the wall mounting to push the reset button on the back side, it is electrically disconnected. It does have a battery which should provide power for awhile when disconnected, though. And the instructions only say "white LED," not "ring of white LED lights" so it is confusing. And there is no mention of holding it down for 10-15 seconds, just pressing the reset button with a paper clip.

If the doorbell has to be connected to the transformer during a reset, I'll need to run new wires from the wall mounting plate to the doorbell. Yes, this will be very awkward!

I removed the doorbell from my devices list and tried to re-install it from scratch. I got the ring LEDs to flash and it scanned the QR code, but after 5 or more attempts (several minutes each) it could not connect to my Wi-Fi. Could it be that it cannot connect to a Wi-Fi 7 system? I cannot designate it to connect to a 2.4 GHz network, even though one is present.

Which I think is part of the problem.  Can you temporarily patch in longer wires so you can reset it while powered?

The hardware reset instructions in the manual say ~10 seconds to do a full hardware reset, the KB article says 15.

Thank you. I will try temporarily patching in some wires. Also, I was going from the installation instructions on the app, which didn't mention how long to press the reset button. I will try for ~15 seconds.

But I'm still a bit puzzled because I've been able to scan the QR code (heard the chime, too) but the doorbell could not connect to the wi-fi network. None of my other cameras had trouble connecting to my wi-fi 7 network, but maybe the doorbell is different?

I'll keep trying. Thanks.
