I've been trying all day to figure out how to make my Arlo doorbell make recordings of all people, animals, packages, etc... but only to send me notifications for certain ones.  It seems like it's an all or nothing thing in the Device Settings.  I want to record anyone coming in my yard or up to my door, but I don't want notifications for every one.  If I turn off "People" in the Motion Detection, I no longer get notification, but it doesn't record them either.  Am I missing something?

Smart Detections are just a different type of notification. Normally, you get a Motion notification but those enabled in Smart Detection also provide another notification with a thumbnail (or an animated one if that is selected). However, disabling notifications doesn't disable recordings (or, at least, it shouldn't). Are you checking Feed to ensure you did or didn't get a recording?

Thanks for the reply @jguerdat.  I did check my feed, and there is nothing. I even went and danced around in front of my doorbell for a minute to see if it recorded, and nothing. Attached are some screenshots of my device settings.

I'd start by deleting the rule and recreate it. Sometimes that helps. BTW, the camera does have a subscription, right? That would be a really strange issue but worth checking.
