Can't hear the person at the door speaking but they can hear me

I did try to search for an answer to this but can't find one. When I answer the doorbell through my iPhone, the person at the door outside can hear me speak, but I cannot hear them speak. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted, anything I can think of but can't hear through the microphone.

Take a look at your doorbell settings and make sure the microphone is toggled on: How do I adjust the audio settings on my Arlo Essential Video Doorbell?

Also check your volume settings on your iOS device.

I have checked the settings and the microphone is toggled on and the volume is up on my device. But I the person outside at the door can’t hear me.
