This is my first purchase of Arlo I have ring in another house working fine. I can get through the install fine it shows connected to Wi-Fi . When I check chime it does not ring. I cannot connect to the video of the doorbell. I have tried to reset it and re connect it checked the wiring multiple times and installed it multiple times the same thing it connects to wireless chime does not work video does not work eventually it disconnects from wireless. I have an alarm system, oven and an aeotec hub all connect no problem. Is it just a defective doorbell?

This is with a traditional analog or digital chime?  If so, what model?

Or are you talking about an Arlo Chime 2?

No this is the existing analog chime.  Spell check change some of what I said.  Right now the Arlo is off line not connected to Wi-Fi.   I can go through the process to reconnect it and it will work for a time then disconnect.   The transformer is a 16v transformer.

Do you have any way to check the voltage at the doorbell?

I really do not have a way to heck the voltage at the doorbell and yes it is a 16 volt transformer.  It is a new build. If the voltage at the doorbell was low would the Arlo function the way it is where it is somewhat working but then loses Wi-Fi ?   Is there anything else from a wiring prospective that might work.   Thought about getting a 24 volt transformer.

If the voltage (or current) is marginal, then the doorbell might sometimes think it has lost power.  There is a small internal battery, but that doesn't last long.

Although it is a bit of a long shot with new wiring, there is always some voltage drop in the wires, so it is conceivably a cause.  A 24 volt transformer would eliminate that possibility (and also eliminate the possibility of a flakey transformer), so it is worth a try.   They are inexpensive.

A test you could try first is putting the power kit module into bypass mode (the "X" position).  That will take the chime out of the circuit.  Then see if the doorbell remains connected.

I also suggest double-checking that the connections are all tight.

Also, a cheap multimeter can be used to check the voltage if a neighbor/friend doesn't have one.

I tried the transformer as well.  The Arlo never loses power.  It just drops from the network.  I decided to return the Arlo and I am going another direction.

I have the same problem, it just doesn't work period. Arlo says they can't do anything because I bought it from Ebay. What other doorbell did you go with?
