My Arlo video doorbell is only picking up video once a person is 1 foot away from the camera. I have motion detection on and have the sensitivity set around 90%. It’s as though the doorbell is asleep and wakes up at close range with no prior video.

Is this new behavior?

Or is this the way the doorbell has always worked?

You might want to start with the motion detection test (if you haven't tried that already).

Also make sure the face of the entire doorbell is clean, as there is a passive infrared (PIR) sensor that detects the motion.

If this is an AVD1001, you can try cutting the power for 15 minutes or so, and then restore it.  That will reboot the doorbell.  Similarly with an AVD2001 you can try removing/reinserting the battery.
