Arlo Video Doorbell with Nicor Prime Chime Plus digital doorbell

Just purchased the Video Doorbell and hooked up to my existing digital doorbell which was a Nicor 18888 (12 VDC) doorbell.  The chime continuously rang (another thread in here mentioned this).  Realized that the transformer was converting to 12VDC and went out and purchased the Nicor Prime Chime+ (18 VAC).  I thought his would work but no luck. The chime rings 3 times when I flip the power on... then nothing.  No indicator lights come on the front of the video doorbell either.  Swapped the cables in the back of the doorbell and still nothing.  Does anyone have any suggestions or are the Nicor models simply incompatible.  Might have to go the mechanical doorbell route if I cant get this to work.  Thanks!

I would absolutely love an answer to this. I’m trying to hook up the power kit to a Nicor Chime box that looks NOTHING like any of the options on the installation guide.
