We've purchased a Video Door Bell (Wired) and had electricians round to install it. However, the chime from our current doorbell do not work properly with the Arlo doorbell. The doorbell starts to ring but the circuit doesn't close and its like the doorbell is being held down and not released. You can hear the transistor buzzing until you release the Power Kit (Arlo) in my chime.

Thanks

What chime model is it?  (manufacturer and model)

Thanks for replying.

The electricians tried with a new model and using our existing one (as to not have to repaint an area/repair holes) both created the same issue. The existing model was:

BG MDC1-01 Traditional Door Chime with Built In Transformer. Mains powered 230/240V AC 50Hz.

The transformer with the Arlo Doorbell was installed and the Arlo chime power also installed. Which seems to be the issue. If you disconnect one of the wires from that after the doorbell has been rung then the circuit completes. Its almost like the circuit opens when the doorbell is rang, but doesn't close to finish and its like someone still has their finger on the bell (if it was an old style doorbell).

At the minute it looks like the only option is to get an Arlo Chime

Thanks

This chime has a built-in transformer.  Did the electricians somehow disable it when they added the Alro transformer to the circuit?
