I am new to this whole system and am looking to see if any one has tried to install this with the TekTone pk543a. I dont have a separate chime. When I connected it last night, my doorbell was going of until i turned the power off. Can i/should I connect the power kit to the transformer in bypass mode? I can provide more info if needed.

While I don't own one, I doubt the PK543A will work with the doorbell . The PK543A is a system intended to support a voice intercom and a remote door entry (something an apartment house might use).
You could try bypass mode of course - if you do that, the chime won't ring.

@StephenB Thanks for that info. I didn't think it would be compatible but that is ok. I didnt want to use the old system. I was looking to just to use the power. Is it possible to connect the power kit directly to the transformer? I found the picture below on this forum but I still not sure if this is the right move.

I'd try bypass mode and see if that works.
You shouldn't wire the power kit to the transformer. It's purpose is to divert power around the chime when the doorbell isn't being pressed.
Is this what you have?

You don't install it. Save it in case you install a chime later.
