- Is there a way to change Smart Notifications for different Activity Zones?

My use case:

I live on a residential city street (so not THAT busy) and yet today received approx. 700 notifications of people/ cars/ bikes/ motion passing my doorbell. I bought this doorbell, to be dual purpose, a) as a video doorbell & b) to be able to have a record of comings and going should anything ever happen to my home. However it is impractical and frankly irritating to have 700+ pings throughout the day & night.

Ideally, I would like to be able to set 2 Zones with different notifications settings.

- 1: A Narrow Zone, Close to my door, with active notifications. So I am pinged should anyone approach but not ring the bell.

- 2: A Wide Zone for the Pavement (sidewalk) outside my home, with muted notifications. So a recording is taken and kept, which I can either review regularly or when required to, should there be an incident.

(- Perhaps a 3rd, for cars passing as well. But unless different zones could ALSO be grouped into different video folders, perhaps this would be redundant.) (Actually, given filters already exist in the library - Could a filter for the different activity zones be added??)

I have done some research and found that a similar question was asked a year ago by @Chris123456789.

So I would like to follow up, to see if any progress has been made or if there is (hopefully) a timeline for implementation?

Many thanks

Michael

Not possible at this time.  The best you can do in this specific circumstance at this time is disable the notifications for everything except people, and if you wish, disable all notifications at specific times of day via 'Modes'.  Another option would be to position a second camera above the door looking straight down so that you get an alert if someone approaches the door, and then disable notifications on the doorbell cam completely.  Basically have a notifications cam with a very limited view and another cam to capture recordings of people's faces and the wider area.

It's a good idea though, being able to enable or disable notifications per activity zone and per category has a lot of potential security uses in busy environments.
