Does the wirefree doorbell allow wifi 5ghz? Only allows 2.4ghz when I set it up. Will you be pushing out a new firmware to allow 5ghz?

That would require additional hardware - a 5GHz radio - so it's not a firmware issue. I believe the reason for use of the 2.4GHz usage is for distance capabilities since 5GHz can't cover as much territory and is more easily blocked by walls, etc.
