Disarm not working?

As I was going to be doing a lot of work in my front garden and garage I disarmed my doorbell, to avoid numerous alerts and videos. However after 2 hours hard work I went into the house to find 40 alerts and clips. What does disarm really mean, if it continues to detect motion?

Disarm should disable the motion detection.  There is also a control to mute notifications (which doesn't disable motion detection and recording).

Maybe try disarming again, and do a short test (walking in front of the doorbell)?
