Hi,

The Byron 776 chime box comes with a transformer built in which outputs 8v which is ok for the wire free doorbell from what I have read.

Byron 776 Wired Doorbell, Integrated 8 V Transformer : Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools

Am I right in thinking that I don't require a transformer to replace the built in one as it's got enough power.

Also question regarding wiring, do I need to install the power kit with it or am I ok to to wire it as is without power kit?

The wirefree doorbell (AVD2001) doesn't use the powerkit.

Looks like that is the case.
