Adding doorbell to 10 camera legacy plan

Hello I just purchased an arlo video doorbell. I have an existing 10 camera legacy smart plan with only 8 cameras connected. I was hoping to have the new doorbell added as the 9th camera to my legacy plan but I can't get it to work. The doorbell will only get added to a new smart plan which is on trial for one year. What am I missing? Am I going to be forced to pay $3/mo for the doorbell after my trial expires despite having room on my legacy plan? Please advise. Thanks!

The issue of the legacy plans has been around since the beginning of 2020. The end result is that making any change in your existing plan pretty much requires you to unsubscribe from the old plan and subscribe to the new. Not necessarily convenient but that's the way it is...
