When will this be able to support homkit? I have a base station and I feel like I made a mistake going with Arlo.

thanks for referencing the article. I did read it but I am unable to move beyond step 5. there is no, " Tab HomeKit" to be found.
Odd, as I am seeing it on my hubs.
Are you
- going to the devices page
- pressing the settings wheel for the base
- pressing the base station name at the top of the settings page
When I do that, I see "HomeKit" between "Location" and "Firmware"

On your product detail page (https://www.arlo.com/en-us/doorbell/AVD4001-100NAS.html) in the FAQ section it specifically states "Arlo SmartHubs and Arlo Base Stations are not currently compatible with the Arlo Video Doorbell (2nd Generation). Simply use your existing Wi-Fi router to connect the doorbell directly to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network."
But in your HomeKit compatibility announcement (https://kb.arlo.com/000063184) it says
You need the following to use Arlo with Apple Home:
- Arlo Video Doorbell (Wired/AVD1001, Wire-Free/AVD2001, HD 2nd Gen/AVD3001, 2K 2nd Gen/AVD4001)
- An Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station (VMB5000, VMB4540, VMB4500, or VMB4000)
Note: To use Apple Home, your Arlo device must be connected to an Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station. You can’t use Apple Home with your Arlo device if the device is connected directly to a Wi-Fi router.
So what's the deal? Will my Video Doorbell 2K (AVD4001-100NAS) work with Apple Home or not? And do I now need to buy an Arlo SmartHub or Arlo Base Station?

The 2k doorbell now works with home kit. I had to remove and re-add in the arlo app then add in homekit
The guide and FAQ linked above is not accurate any more
