Arlo user for years bought 4 camera Ultra kit last week. Could not be more discouraged. First, the base station needed a firmware update and after that flashed Amber for 15 minutes before finally showing online. When pairing Ultra cameras, took minutes to verify latest firmware at every pairing attempt and pairing procedure failed dozens of times. After finally getting everything updated and paired successfully (over 2 hours) and mounting cameras, only my old Arlo Pro cameras deliver video to the library consistently. Set in armed mode for 60-second recordings, most motion on Ultras is just not uploaded at all. The SD has them all. When it does upload Ultra video, the duration is random (5s when set to 60 fixed for example) and completely misses the cause of the activation. Support says re-pair the cameras even as the video sits on the SD card and is clearly getting into the hub. Very disappointed. Love the cameras but the hub is just such a huge step backward I’ll probably be returning the Ultra system and setting up my Pro system again.

fun2rv,

Who is your ISP and what are your download/upload speeds? Some of what you're experiencing here could be related to insufficient bandwidth.

I have VIASAT with 100MBps down and 5 MBps up. Use Eero mesh WiFi with the VIASAT router in bridge mode and the hubs (two now) connected to the Eero device that is connected directly to the VIASAT router. I consistently observe easy 3MBps upstream speed from the hub when streaming live video so I doubt this is the issue.

As I look at this daily, I’m seeing 3 and 6 second videos in the library when the local video is a minute or more in duration. Makes me think it’s getting processed somewhere and concatenation is taking place.

Would also add that my Pro cameras on the same hub not do this at all and perform exactly as they always have. Two Ultra and two Pro cameras on each of two VMB5000 hubs.

Made some changes to my recording settings making them all fixed 60 seconds.  On recordings from leaving home today, I see Pro camera recordings in the library at 60 seconds duration as expected.  On the Ultra cameras, the first time I looked two recordings were there at 28 seconds and 30 seconds each.  Now they are both only 5 seconds long and do not capture the motion at all.  Not sure what is happening, but it seems to be on the back end and only for Ultra recordings.  Any more ideas?
