Hi,

I was looking into the inside of the camera housing and noticed the metal plate used to attached the camera to the magnetic mount. I wonder how much is all this metal messing with the WiFi signal. I plan to install my cameras using threaded mounts and I believe I can remove this metal plate from the housing without affecting the threaded installation. The reason for this would be to increase the signal reception on the cameras. I live in Puerto Rico and houses here are made out of concrete, which does not help reception. I believe this mod may improve my experience with the Ultras. Is there anyone from Arlo that could:
1) Confirm my theory on the metal plates effects on the WiFi signal?
2) Confirm if there is a way to acquire new cameras housing should anything go wrong during moding or if I need to move back to the magnetic mounts for any reason?

Thanks

The metal plate and/or magnetic mount should not have any negative impact on the signal strength of the camera. Any modification of the housing could void the warranty on your camera and is not recommended. At this time, the housing is not available separately for purchase or replacement.
