will the 5000 automatically recognize my existing pro 2's

Assuming you're installing the VMB5000 new, the answer is no. You'd have to remove each camera and sync it to the 5000. It's like starting new - because it is.

yes it's a new 5000 install. I have installed the new ultra cameras but it does find Pro 2 (H5) any idea's. They worked fine on the vmb3500 base station

You might need to remove the cameras from the account and then re-add them.
