I just installed two Ultra2 cameras in our Maintenance shed for the club. Camera views are perfect, capture everything we need. Anyone coming in/out, etc
Question, online using Chrome as my browser, I get the message: Video Not able to display in your browser, download to view.
On my Iphone I can see the entire video.
Strange I went to other camera videos and I am getting the same thing. I know this is not a forum for computer browsing problems, but I just wanted to make sure there wasnt a setting in my camera video settings that could create this.
I will clear my browser cache, restart and try again. Then when I bring it ARLO back, I will see if I still get the message and reply.

Arlo's 2K and 4K recordings use the HEVC codec - which is not supported by Chrome or FireFox.
If the PC processor is 6th generation or later, they can be directly viewed in Edge. However, this usually requires that you purchase the Microsoft HEVC windows extension from the Microsoft app store ($0.99). Some PC manufacturers might have pre-installed the extension.

Is there a way to stop the 4k steaming? Some hoe I thought I saw that the the Secure Pkus plan we have. There are going to be a handful of folks that will need to look at the videos
Golf, Tennis pro, club maintenance, beach and marina folks each with specific camera access. I hope the can view their videos, but looking at be the library they are 90% 4k. I really don’t want to know start configuring all their workstations. The displays on Devices are fine, it’s just the streamed videos

There is a setting for 4K livestreaming in the app. But livestreaming should be 1080p in the browser anyway.
If you mean recordings, you could enable auto zoom and track - that should do it. You are losing detail (dropping to 1080p recordings).
The other option is to tell them to install VLC on the PCs, and then download to play them.

I downloaded the Microsoft APP for viewer. Didn't make a difference on my Windows 10 Desktop using EDGE.
But on my other computer, Lenovo YOGA, (Windows 10) it displays fine with EDGE in 4K.
Making me think this could not only be browser but computer type related.

Stephen,
Perfect enabling Auto Zoom and Track is what we need. This way Any computer/browser can view the library.
Thanks, you just saved me a lot of extra work.

Yes, I said that. You need a computer with a 6th generation or later processor (either AMD or Intel). These processors were launched in 2016. And you additionally need the HEVC extension app. With these in place, you can see the videos in Edge (and also Microsoft's Movies and TV app).

Stephen,
If anything I have the latest hardware. Computers has been more business for over 40 years. So I am always playing around with them. I've upgraded my desktops so many times, added new processor chips, memory, harddrives and more.
My computers are up to date. But your response about Auto HDR really makes a big difference. This way, anyone who needs to watch the videos can do it on just about any browser without any special software or hardware.
