I am trying to troubleshoot the delay in my camera Arlo Ultra spotlight camera.
I see this has been brought up by multiple people on this forum.
The answer we got from Arlo is (no offense) buII.
So far I have seen firmware issue BS
I have seen the latency is expected because data has to travel to cloud and back down. Again buII.
The camera is recording to a base station 4 feet away and there is a 4.75 second delay. This totally defeats the purpose of the camera. It’s not an issue when viewing stale data but to use this as a security system is useless!!!!
I have a $150 ring doorbell which records directly to the cloud and I’m able to interact with people at my door instantly- where the $1000 Arlo system is basically trash
I would seriously think again about buying Arlo HW. You may think the 3-7 second delay isn’t a big deal but trust me it defeats the purpose of the camera.
If someone breaks into your car - by the time you see it they will be long gone.
