So I just bought an Ultra 2 for about the same price as the Pro 5S 2K and I have to say I'm not impressed by the video quality. I expected 4K to be much better. I did find that Consumer Reports gave the Ultra 2 only 2 of 5 for video quality, the Pro 3 they gave 5 out of 5, the Pro 4 only 3 out of 5. They didn't review the Pro 5S.
I'm pretty sure Arlo has released a few dud models, so now I'm wondering what I should buy.
I don't think CR is always the best judge of electronics, but their ding on the Ultra 2 seems to match what I see. It's not a bandwidth issue because the camera is only about 15 feet from my router with only a glass door in the way. It says the signal is strong.
Anyway, I'm considering a Pro 5S or maybe even looking for a Pro 3. I'm looking for some constructive feedback, please.

Do you have the recordings set to best video? Also, do you have local 4k live streaming enabled? You can find more info regarding the feature here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062127/How-do-I-stream-in-4K-with-my-Arlo-Ultra-camera

Recordings, mainly. But even live doesn't seem impressive. My experience matches what Consumer Reports testers said.

I accepted your answer as the solution, though it was weird in my case. I already had 4k live streaming enabled and it was still not looking so good. So I disabled it, rebooted my hub, and enabled it again. Suddenly everything got better!
I really don't know why setting it the first time didn't seem to enable the 4K. Gremlins, perhaps.
