I’m new to Arlo Ultra 2 cameras and such.. does anyone know how to get or have a valid promo code for reduced monthly or annual code for recordings, etc,?

I’m liking the service and all but hate that with Ultra 2 you must have monthly or annual to get recordings saved weekly, daily or monthly.. thank you all for any input!

There is no promo codes at this time. However, we do have sales and promos from time to time. If you are signed up for email alerts from us that is generally when you will see what sales there are at any given point.

Why is Arlo so bad now? I literally just upgraded cameras and it’s awful. It says the basic subscription is $7.99 but when you hit subscribe, it is charging $12.99. Every email that I have ever gotten the promo code has not worked and good luck trying to get ahold of anyone to ask. I think it would be easier to call the Pentagon. Ridiculous

I have contacted support about the concerns you raised here, they will reach out to you as soon as possible.

Yeah, I agree. We had three Arlo Pro cameras, and had issues with the batteries dying in two of them so we decided to get replacementsd. All we could find, for our needs, were the Ultra 2, since we also wanted the solar panel chargers. $190 later, I am now finding out they are next to useless since we apparently have to pay for an account to get any basic use out of them.

Might as well be a scam. There is no way we are going to sign up for any annual plan just to use basic functionality we ALREADY had access to before this.

All currently sold Arlo camera models require a subscription to get cloud storage.  That started back in 2018, so is old news...  (The need for the subscription is on the packaging, and also stated on most on-line websites.  But in some cases, it is not as prominent as I'd like).

If you have a VMB4540 or VMB5000 base, then you can use direct access to local storage instead of a subscription.  There are a lot of limitations, but lots of people do go that route.  If you aren't sure what base you have, look for a VMBxxxx label on it.

Thanks for the response... I will see if I can give that a try...
