Batteries charge fine in the external charger.
With the camera mounted in its housing, using the supplied Arlo charger and cable, the cameras will not charge unless I firmly press the camera into the housing and hold it there.
Seems to me perhaps the connectors through the housing are not making adequate contact to the battery. I have tried wiping down the connectors on the cable and on the housing. The cameras and housings are brand new so this is not likely a dirt problem.
This problem occurs with multiple housings and multiple cameras.

That's the problem. I generally use both thumbs on the edges of the camera face while wrapping my hands around the case to help. You can also try a small amount of silicone grease on the o-ring that seals the camera in the case against weather which may help.

WHen installing the camera into the housing pressure is needed until you hear/feel it click into place - that's the lock to keep it from falling out. It would seem that you're not pushing the camera fully into the housing. This is needed so the electrical contacts make between the housing and camera.

I am pushing the camera into the housing as hard as I can. It does not click.

Gripping the camera as you suggested and pushing with both thumbs seems to have helped on at least one camera. I will have to try it with the others. Thank you for the pointer.

Gripping the camera as you described and pressing with my thumbs is definitely the solution! Thank you so much - I was tearing my hair out trying to get the cameras to charge.
