Hi I got an issue with captioned lately, that Away Mode works normally when I am going out of the zone, but never enable Home Mode when I am back, and I have to turn it on manually, is that anything wrong with my settings?

The "arrive" automation needs to be enabled in Arm Away, so that is one thing to check.

That said, my own "Arrive" automation often doesn't trigger when I return home.  So this might also be on Arlo.

of course you still have to make sure your "switching to ARM HOME when arriving" automation is set up correctly and enabled for ARM AWAY.

I am more inclined that you have done above correctly, but it's just ARLO not working.  I have been reporting failing geofencing since May-2024 and have heard no fix from ARLO.

Anyway, I have been keeping log of my incidents of geofencing failing here.  And I have experienced your issue too (though not "always").  During this year, I have even given up the ARLO geofencing capability but used the geofencing capability of google automation to switch the ARLO modes (which was even more reliable)

If you don't mind wasting some time, it's not a bad idea keeping a log of incidents you are experiencing.

Thanks for the input! So far I have 2 sets of automations. 1st one trigger by time, turn everything on after sunset then off at sunrise. 2nd when there's no one home then trigger the protection, and arrive home "Standby" is active only when "Arm Away" mode is triggered.

The geofencing got no issues but Home to Away, but it's just not working in the other way. I started using Arlo when I was in Hong Kong, and now I moved to the UK, I can't tell if that's one of the reasons why I failed. But I really don't wanna change my country if I need to delink and link up all my devices again, that can only trigger me not using the product.

Arlo done well with everything except this part, and I really want to fix this issue!

Not sure I understand you here, but has your geofencing been working or not?

Can you post screenshots of your automations?  That would make it easier to confirm that they are set up correctly.

If they are set up correctly, then the issues would definitely be on Arlo's end, not something you can fix.

"Arrive" frequently fails to trigger for me.  I haven't noticed "Leave" failing on my system recently, but I'm not claiming it is 100% reliable.

I wondert if it was me but after reading this I don't think so.  Since the app changed I have had no luck getting the automation to kick in on returning home.  It always works *leaving* (it goes to "away") but never when we return (should revert to "standby").  I have to manually change modes.  I have tried every combination of modes/schedules without any luck.  I have even tried two new phones to see if it was an iOS presence/geo issue (it wasn't).  Has this been addressed at all by Arlo in any way at all?

Thanks!

Are all your phones iOS? @StephenB has one and also has issues. Have you tried to use Specific People Arrive instead of Anyone?

ALso, be sure all associated phones are logged in. My wife never checked her phone for Arlo and it logged her out after 2 weeks. Now she at least opens the app once a week to ensure she remains logged in.

Yes, but a bit different from what @Tanraell describes.  Mine often misses detecting Arrive, but it is not a 100% fail.  Mine also occassionally misses Leave.

if you find at least "leaving" always working -- congratulations.  My leaving has been equally unreliable.

I have been logging and reporting many of my faulty cases here.   Have stopped logging for a month or so (won't bother doing while ARLO is not fixing anything), and while I have been updating to the latest app, I am still experiencing similarly unreliable geofencing --- leaving and arriving.
