Today, my neighbor built a fire out behind his house near the alley.

It's about a hundred foot from the nearest camera  aiming that direction.

I was sitting in the house minding my own business,  when all the sudden I got a couple two or three alerts.. when I looked at my phone, it said fire has been noticed or something like that..  I clicked on it and sure enough, it detected the Flames from that brush pile he set on fire.. that was pretty neat.

The camera is titled woodpile.. it's because the camera is mounted to one of my firewood racks. Nothing to do with his fire, LOL.

If you look real close... there's a white car there off in the distance and the fire is beside it to the right.. it's not very big in the big scheme of things compared to the fact that the camera recognized what it was seeing and notified me.

Hi @RegularJoe

Thank you for sharing this and providing positive feedback on the new fire detection feature!

I noticed that recently as well. But every one was a false alarm- no fires out here in the woods, just critters wandering by.

I am seeing the same thing. The camera is picking up the movement of yellow flowers in view of one of our cameras and has been sending alert after alert about them.  My wife almost had a heart attack the first time she saw one come across.

Is there a way to disable these types of alerts? They are 100% more annoying than helpful.

Yes, Fire is one of the Smart Detections that you can disable.

  1. Press the profile in the upper left
  2. Press Home
  3. Select "Smart Detection"
  4. Select the camera

I remember getting the notification that there was going to be an update to the software. Ever since then I've been getting so many false notifications especially on one of my cameras. Several of them being that there's a fire when it's sunlight reflecting or light reflecting off of a spider web. I've tried adjusting the sensitivity but it hasn't helped. Really starting to irritate me has anybody else been having this happen since the update?

Have you turned off the fire detection feature for the cameras?
