Ever since being forced to upgrade to the new Arlo app experience, I’ve been plagued by an incredibly annoying and seemingly pointless feature: when I change the system mode from Arm Home to Arm Away (or vice versa), the app sends a push notification with the same sound and appearance as a normal system alert. But I know I’ve changed modes—I just did it myself in the app. Why do I need to be notified of something I just did?
It’s disruptive, adds zero value, and honestly feels more like a bug than a feature. If someone else in the household changed the mode, sure, a notification would make sense. But for the person who initiates the change? It’s utterly redundant.
Please, Arlo—either remove this notification for the initiating user, or at least give us the option to turn it off. Not every action I take needs to be echoed back at me with a sound and flash.
Other users have moaned about this too.
