But they can never seem to find the time to restore what's been taken away from us, or to fix everything that's broken.
There are now ads at the top of the dashboard and devices sreens, and every 5th video in the crappy feed screen.
How about spending some time actually creating a good product, then you could let word-of-mouth do the selling for you. The reason you're seeing such a loss of sales is your POS app. Word-of-mouth is working against you.

While enhancing the Arlo app experience for all users continues to be a priority for the development team, some users that are not on an Arlo plan will now see in-app offers for the latest Arlo hardware and services.
These in-app offers have been integrated into the flow of each app screen to avoid any disruption to the user experience. We appreciate and will be considering your feedback as we continue to enhance the app for all Arlo users.

Look, I understand that those aren't your words. They're the company line. Please consider - and I hope Arlo management does: Why would I want to pay more money for an app that is severely broken and has been for 2 years now, with little to no progress, no updated information and no timeline for fixes?
Trying to convince those of us who aren't paying a monthly fee, to pay unacceptably large amounts of money, for additional features we don't want or need, and which mostly don't work, is a waste of resources that could be used instead to build a better product and to actually properly test it, rather than using the existing user base as guinea pigs / beta testers. All inserting these ads does is annoy us further.

It is stunning that you didn't and don't realize the ads would be and are infuriating, There is no more Arlo in my future,
