Just accidentally discovered that a couple of private messages had been sent to me, one by a member and one by a moderator.

But I never received any routine Email notifications about it.

In searching, I see that this problem has come up a few times during the past couple years, is it currently known to be failing again ?

Same, Like me you are probably posting too much negativity about arlo.

The last email notification I got from the forum was sent on 25 June.  So it is possible that feature is broken.

@BrookeN , @JamesC , @ShayneS - is that something you can look into?

Email notifications have temporarily been disabled to resolve a related issue within the community forum. These will be enabled again once that issue is resolved.

Just my .02 cents.....but it would probably be helpful to many others if a community announcement was made to that effect.

Afternoon...if / when you get a minute, just a follow-up wondering about the status of the "No Email Notifications" problem ?

Thanks

roundball,

We're almost ready to turn email back on. I spoke with the team yesterday and we re-enabled temporarily after a change was made on the backend for some testing. Unfortunately there were still some issues that need to be resolved but I'm hopeful that we'll be back online after the next pass.

I agree.  This is yet another CF in Arlo's handling of issues.  Seriously, it doesn't take any amount of experience to understand that if you disable a function on which people rely, you should let them know.

Good morning...hope all is well.

As I assume you must know, there have been a couple more UI updates but still no fixes from arlo for the failing  'Email Notification'  feature.

What is the specific target date when arlo is going to fix this ?

Thanks

This seems to have become the new arlo norm for the customer forum unfortunately.

No email updates anymore is certainly a way to address increasing customer complaint levels going forward.

Whats next? Dropping the legacy boards?

Hope you're doing OK...just following up.

Been a couple more weeks with multiple Arlo Secure updates, but Email Notification is still not working.

Just so we don't have to waste any more time wondering, is the reality that Arlo has 'disabled' the community Email Notifications feature ?

Similar to the "Keep Me Signed In" feature being disabled?

roundball,

As mentioned above, yes, community email notifications have been disabled. This was done to resolve an issue related to the email templates that are sent out from the community. Arlo firmware and app updates are unrelated to the community functionality. We're continuing to work with our community partners to resolve the issue with the email templates. This unfortunately is taking longer than initially expected but once the issue is resolved, the notifications will be re-enabled.

The point the above users were making was that there had been no official announcement about email notifications being temporarily suspended.

So, it'd be helpful to have such an announcement in the future.

I'm actually addicted to this forum...

It's now already been at least a month and half since arlo disabled the 'Email Notification' feature...about to start into the 7th week.

And since it was simply 'disabled' there's no time consuming labor activity involved to fix it.

Given the above long time frame, may we have factual acknowledgement that there is no active arlo plan or target date to "re-enable" the  community's Email Notification Feature ?

Thanks
