Arlo is becoming ridiculous with their prices. I was fine paying the $2.99-7.99 a month because I only have a video doorbell and I could use the smart notifications. But now for ONE doorbell camera they want $16+ every month for me to keep smart notifications. No thank you. Now I get an alert every time a leaf blows by my front door, or a bird flies by. My phone goes off every 30-40 seconds now. To make it worse, I can't turn the notifications off because then I won't know someone is at my front door. So a high priced camera, with a high monthly subscription for features that used to be included with the basic plan, mediocre customer service. I think arlo is TRYING to go bankrupt. So not worth it anymore. Does arlo buy back their cameras for cash? If not I'm tossing it in the trash and switching to wyze. At least their cameras are excellent and inexpensive, and a reasonable monthly fee too.

The Basic plan includes Filtered Alerts.  When Filtered Alerts are enabled notifications are limited to People Vehicles and Animals. You can read about how filtered alerts work here: https://kb.arlo.com/000063410/What-are-Filtered-Alerts-and-how-do-I-set-them-up-for-my-Arlo-System

With a Plus or Premium plan, you will receive the Arlo Intelligence features as outlined here: https://www.arlo.com/en-us/arlosecure.html#compare

That doesn't address the fact that to get get features I used to get for a certain price, I now have to pay double for in a different plan. What incentive do I have to keep the subscription or camera when I have to upgrade to a different plan that costs double?
