Getting auto renewal message after cancelling

I cancelled my subscription last year after all the mess ups around fair use. I replace my camera's by a different system as well. Now I just received an email that my subscription will be auto renewed. Checking the my.arlo.com site I can see my account is still set to not renew. Are the auto renewal mails just setup very poorly or is this an indication the back end systems will try to extend me? I would hate for an auto renewal to kick off and requiring my banks to block Arlo and do charge backs.
