Is the CVR plan only for four cameras or will it work unjust 1 some guy at customer support sad it will only work on four cameras but he was very rude and nasty which seems to be with all customer support for arlo and if it will only work on only four cameras why doesn't it say that in the subscription sign up that would be something people would really need to know unless the company is trying to rip people off

The CVR plan is only for one camera, so you need one subscription for each camera that you want to continuously record.

Also, you need

  • cameras that support CVR (not all do)
  • have those cameras paired with an Arlo base
  • have those cameras connected to an AC charger (not solar) 24x7

I don't believe there is a limit on the number of cameras in the account that can use CVR.  But a base station can only support 5 simultaneous streams, so there is a limitation there.  I guess it is possible that Arlo limits CVR to 4 per base.

The Arlo Secure multicamera subscription (NOT CVR) covers unlimited cameras at a location in most of the world.  But for some reason it is limited to a max of 4 cameras in Switzerland.  Is that where you are located?

This article suggests no (which I think means "not yet").

While it does include "Arlo Essential Indoor Cameras" in the camera list, it does not say Gen 2.  Plus the "article applies to" at the top doesn't include the VMC2060 (Gen 2 indoor FHD) or the VMC3060 (Gen 2 indoor 2K)

Note my statement about needing a base might not apply to the indoor cameras (you can get CVR without a base for the indoor Gen 1 camera).  But we can't know for sure, since Arlo hasn't released the feature for Gen 2.

FWIW, I tried out CVR some years ago, and didn't really like it.  It's not that easy to navigate the timeline, and there is no way to download a section of video.  The best you can do is make a screen recording while you are playing it back.  There also were gaps in the recording.

But, as @StephenB said above, it does NOT mention the Gen. 2 version.

This can confusing, and you have to be careful.  The Gen 2 camera is not listed, so only the original essential indoor camera is compatible.

@JamesC - it would be better if Arlo also listed the cameras that AREN'T compatible.
