I don't know what system is best for my use.  I want to monitor two rooms in my home when my husband has a caregiver with him.  Motion activated systems will not work because there is constant motion in either room.  I need to have connectivity to my iPhone, iPad and/or computer (Mac).  Please let me know which system is appropriate.  I am currently looking at the one at Costco but do not know if it will preform as required.

Thank you

Linda

I'm not clear on what you need if motion detection isn't desired.  All Arlo cameras use that.  However, the Q cameras would likely be be preferable since the motion detection recording can be not used and you can live view for extended periods of time.  You can also subscribe to the CVR (continuous video recording) option so you can see what you missed when not live viewing.

Agree... the Q camera with the CVR option would cover 24/7 and still have all the motion recorded clips in the Library

Good motion detect and quality video too

Dont believe that answers my question.  The motion detector would active continuously with people in the room (my husband and caregiver)  I am more concerned about monitoring what is going on in the room.  This will save me steps and concern when I am gone.  I don't need a motion detector unless the house is empty.  So....can I turn of the motion detector and still visually monitor the room???

It appears the Q is unstable, according to reviews.  Also, I have all apple devices - can I use them all with this system?

First , Yes, the Q camera app works fine on Apple phones/ipads...

What I was saying,maybe wasn't clear....is that the Q camera really records 24/7 with the CVR option... While it is doing this you CAN have on motion detect also at the same time and / or you can disarm this feature.... It really doesn't matter as IF the motion detect is on, the motion activated clip will also appear in the Library as small videos of your time setting ( say 20 seconds )...the CVR 24/7 record time line is recorded also.... you don't have to use them but it does make it easier to view small vids at times ( which is why I leave mine on ).

At ANY time of your choosing, you can LIVE VIEW...  You can also SHARE the camera with others if needed to assist in viewing at time using the GRANT ACCESS feature.

As to the Q being unstable...I haven't seen it, mine has been running for a yr and half so far. Seems to get good ratings from several hundred users at Bestbuy ( 4.4/5 )... this are real reviews

BUT, if you home router is weak or data thru put low, there can be problems as;

1 ) it runs on your home wifi

2) you need a min of 1Mb+ upload data thru put( can peak at 1.5mb at high rez )

3) its range is limited to the strength of your home router and distance thru walls

Good info thanks.  One more question.  if i try it and can not get it to work properly in my enviornment - is it returnable and refundable.  That is a lot of money for an iffy.  You said it was available at Best Buy - is it a fair trade item?  Is  that the cheapest place I can buy it.  It is a rather pricey item.   Appreciate your input.

That's up to the store but Best Buy will allow you to return items. You should check to verify what the return window is.
