I opted for Arlo a number of years ago because they didn't require a subscription for recording with the interior Arlo Q, but it now seems their new plans require a subscription for recording with all cameras, including the Arlo Q.   Is this correct?   I will reassessment my decision to use Arlo products if this is true.   PS, their online support service is terrible.

No, the Q does not need a subscription if the free 7 day, 5 (legacy) camera plan is  sufficient. However, if you're using a feature such as activity zones that's a premium feature, that would require a subscription. You can delete those zones or otherwise disable whatever premium feature is in use to eliminate any subscription issues.

Thank you.  This wasn't clear to me from the latest subscription plan revision info they just distributed.
