The Arlo Q and the device you are using to register it must be on the same network using the same SSID.
Make sure that you are entering the SSID exactly as you see it including upper and lower case.
Does the SSID have any special characters in it?
How old is the Arlo Q?

Also note the Arlo Q doesn't work with high channels on a 5ghz network.

I find that it does work on a high channel if you lower the speed to whatever your router supports (~600-700Mb/s).

Interesting. What setting are you using on the Arlo to control speed?

It's a router setting, probably in an advanced WiFi section. It depends on your router configuration so you may need to poke around a bit.

Ahh ok. Restricting my whole network due to one device doesn't seem like a great solution. Thanks anyway.

I find that a low channel works fine at full speed. However, limiting the speed usually doesn't have much, if any, downsides unless you're transferring huge amounts of data.
