I am getting a lot of nusance motion alerts outside of the ares that I defined for detection. This is a brand new system to me so I am still learning, but it looses much value if I cannot correct this and will have to return for refund.

After setting motion detection zones, you must then select those zones within your rules.

 

To do this, log in to your Arlo account and navigate to Mode > select your Arlo Q > select the mode you wish to edit > click edit on the desired rule > edit "Motion Detected" and select which zones you would like motion detection to be active in. Be sure to save your changes when finished.

Thank you James as your instructions appear to have resolved my issue.

I have the same exact issue as described above on my Arlo Q and still getting notifications for records outside the activity zone while I am having this zone selected in the settings as per your instructions.

Consider rebooting the camera and try again. Do you still see the same behavior?
