after a power outage my two cameras came back on, but now both pictures are purple. They were installed a week ago. I tried a restart from my app on one camera-no help. Should I try a factory reset?

No. It's the cameras, not the setup. There are tons of threads here found through a brief browsing of the forums or a search dealing with this. The basics - open and close the battery doors to reset the cameras. Failing that, contact support using the big Support link at the top here to open a case for replacement.
