Two questions regarding the Arlo Q plus:

1.  Without a subscription, can CVR be made to the SD card without being recorded on the cloud?

2.  Without a subscription, can motion-triggered recordings be made to the SD card without being recorded on the cloud?

nest,

1. No, the CVR feature requires an internet connection.

2. Yes, If your Arlo Q is "Armed" and it loses internet connection while SD card recordings are enabled, motion triggered recordings will arrive on the SD card. This feature does not require any subscription past the included free Basic plan.

Thanks for your response.

To clarify, if internet connection is working and all I have is the free basic plan, can I record only onto the SD card and avoid recording onto the cloud?

nest,

If there is a working internet connection, the Arlo Q will first record to the cloud. If the internet connection is absent, this is when recordings will instead route to the SD card.
