arlo pro privacy mask

hi all

i am planning to buy a arlo pro cam, but as there is some public area in sigth is there a function to black out a certain polygon area of the recording in order to address privacy concerns , other cam call this privacy masking.

is such functionality available?

thx for guidance

The Q cameras support this but not the wireless ones due to the use of PIR sensors which can't be masked like that.  I use small pieces of black plastic electrical tape to create my own physical masks.

PS... the Q cameras are not weather rated ( indoors only )

I was rather on the point where I would like to configure the area of what actually get saved after recording by blacking out areas of privacy. So this would be after the actual recording and yes there might be then situations where you got recordings with actually nothing happing, because there was movement in the blacked out areas.

 

This is how I understand other products seem to do it.
