i am trying to hook it up but i just have a small wi fi with no port to plug the cable into . i dont have a big router what do i do ?

The best would be to get a switch.

Remove one Ethernet cable from your existing router and plug it into the switch and then plug a patch lead from the switch back into the vacant port of the router. Then you can use any of the remaining sockets on the switch for the Arlo.

If the wifi unit has no ethernet ports, I'd get this and connect it to your wifi and plug the Arlo base into it
