Just set up my system and I've noticed that if I walk in my driveway for longer than the camera records, the camera won't stop it's initial recording, notice motion is still ongoing and begin recording again.
Anyone else have have this problem and how do I fix it?

All of the cameras. It was initially set to record for 10 seconds but for some reason once the 10 seconda stopped it takes a while before the camera picks anything up again.
My my solution was to make each clip 30 seconds but it's sucking my battery life.

You're using the usual solution. 30 seconds really shouldn't be sucking your batteries down unless you're recording/live viewing a ton. Remember that spec battery life is with ~5 minutes total time per day.
