I assume you mean Geo Fencing.

Geo Fencing does not use GPS (global positioning system), it use Cell Tower triangulation to try and determine your location. Unfortunately, cell tower triangulation isn't a very accurate way to determine your location (at least when compared to real GPS). It usually needs 3 towers in range of your phone to accurtately determine your location. If you live in a city, maybe not an issue, but if you live outside a city it could be an issue. Until Arlo/Netgear uses a statelite based GPS system, Geo Fencing will never work that well for some people. I tried geofencing on Arlo and on Smartthings. It didn't work very well for me on either system, so it's just not Arlo.

My solution was to use a Smartthings arrival sensor and Arlo Pilot with Smarthings. The arrival sensor knows when I get home, turns off cameras, and then Arlo pilot changes my Arlo mode automatically. Works great.

I have found the free app Life360 in conjunction with Smartthings is very reliable.
