My Arlo pro suddenly is recording for a long time...up to 5 minutes, with no motion or sound.

Where is the camera located? Any trees, bushes, curtains, etc near by. Any heat sources near by?

No. It's worked perfectly for the past month. Suddenly today it records for up to 5 min with no motion or sound detected.

Ok. I would first try rebooting your base station. Hit the power button in the back of it to turn it off, wait 10-20 seconds, then turn it back on. Wait for all 3 lights to turn green and see if that helps.
