Through Amazon I purchased a refurbished Aro Pro System with VMB4000 base station. When I went to the Netgear registration page it said my system was already registered. It looked like it was still registered to the previous owner. I then tried to follow the instructions for discovery: 1. Connect the Base Station to your router using an Ethernet cable. 2 Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet. 3 Press the On-Off button on the back of the Base Station and wait until the Power and Internet icons are lit green. 4 Make sure your mobile device/computer is on the same network as the Router. The discovery process failed after at least six attempts. Please advise ASAP.

You need to contact support through the link at the bottom of the page and get the system deregistered from the previous owner. It's an inconvenience but at least you know if someone steals your system, nobody else can use it
