Sort of a strange question here. I installed my Arlo Pro system last November or so and have had generally good luck so far. Recently though my 2 front yard facing camera's have started to have almost non-stop activations from about 12PM to about 5PM each day. I'm talking upwards to 75 or so activations each.
There is nothing obvious about what's causing this all of a sudden. I've even lowered my sensitivity level which hasn't really helped either. My only thinking is that because these camera face in a Southwest direction maybe the direct afternoon sunlight has something to do with it. With spring starting now it's also the first time these camera's have had warm direct sunlight hitting them for hours at a time.
Has anyone heard of such a problem or if the sunlight might even be the cause of this? Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, reflection of sunlight will set off the camera's detector... easy test is to take one camera and aim it down to avoid same...see if it changes false triggers

I'm guessing that's it. Any easy fix other then redirecting the camera's? That would sort of defeat the purpose of my setup. Do those camera skins with the hoods you can buy help any with this?

The skins MAY help. not sure of your situation or angle of sun.. I had to move ( aimed in slighty diff direction ) one camera as sun would reflect at about 1pm into camera...a 10degree angle change solved it

Thanks, I can't beleive this isn't a huge problem for other people seeing that many of us buy these camera's to protect our front yards and driveways. I ended up have well over a hunred activations yesterday afternoon because of this. I may try the skins with the hoods but even slightly moving my camera's will defeat the purpose of having them. It's almost like they need some type of len's filter to help this.
